Aces and Faces 4 Play Power Poker Review

Get that classic video poker experience with a bit more of a twist with Aces and Faces 4 Play Power. It’s comparable to one of the classics, Jacks or better, sometimes referred to as ‘Draw Poker.’ This game takes its inspiration from the more popular video poker called Aces and Faces.

Whether you’re familiar with that game or getting your hands wet on the video poker scene. This is the game to start. The goal is to get the better hand, but don’t worry; even if the player receives identical or equal cards, that’s still a win. The player will also have the chance to play multiple hands at the same time: more deck, more chances of winning.

With its engaging visuals and sounds, easy-to-understand interface, and playable virtually anywhere. This is the perfect game for that poker itch. So, if we’re feeling lucky or playing strategically, sit down, and take a whip at Aces and Faces 4 Play Poker.

Gameplay

To play video poker, the player should be familiar with the different kinds of poker hands. So, these are different poker hands, and some are specifically for video poker itself. Keep in mind that the card ranking also affects whether one hand is better than another.

Two Pair – A pair is when two cards are of the same rank or denomination. In this case, the player needs two pairs.

3 of a Kind – It’s when there are three cards with either the same rank or denomination.

Straight – When the player has five consecutive cards of any suit. (ex: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)

Flush – When the player has five cards of the same suit, not necessarily sequential.

Full House – Having 1 three of a kind and 1 pair.

Straight Flush – Having subsequential cards with the same suit.

4 Aces – Literally four aces on hand.

Royal Flush – When the player has five of the most valuable cards; King, Queen, Jack, Ace, and 10, all with the same suit.

The goal of the game is to get any of the poker hands above. Now, time to play! The player needs to configure how much they would bet. At the bottom of the game screen, there’s a +/- button, press the desired amount, and besides, that are the “Coins” and “Collect” buttons. The “Coin” button will toggle which coin size you want. While the “Collect” button will just collect the winnings.

The player will be presented with five random cards; they’ll be given the choice of either hold or discard either all or just some of the cards. For example, if there’s a pair on the dealt cards, keep the pair, the player might get another one in the next deal.

Every time the player wins, they are given a chance to double the winnings. Choosing the “Double” button will take you to a bonus round. It’s a winner takes all situation, a ‘risk it all at that. It’s the same as the regular rounds; five cards will be dealt with. The leftmost card will be shown, and the player has to pick a higher-value card.

Additional Game Features

Here are a few features that’ll bring the thrill rating up a notch.

Multi-hand – This feature will give the player the ability to hold multiple hands simultaneously, raising your chances of winning by a lot. But, at the same time, there are risks of losing a lot as well.

Double offer – Every time the player wins, they’re given a chance to decide whether to risk your winnings to either double it or lose it all. If the player chooses to go for it, they just need to press the “Double” button on the screen’s bottom right.

This will take the player to another screen, with another set of dealt cards; the leftmost card will then be revealed. The player must pick another card with a higher value; if they do, then winnings will be doubled. If not, the sum would be forfeited.

These features give the player a bit of an option to have their own playing style when it comes to video poker, whether you want to play solely on luck or with a strategy. Either way, both are fun and exciting ways to play.

Game Design

The cards basically take up 80% of the screen. There’s no specific theme here, like space-themed or whatever theme it may be. Though you don’t need a theme for this kind of game, just its barebones are enough. That’s precisely what Aces and Faces 4 Play Power did. Simplicity at its finest.

Visually. The game gets a five out of five for that. The interface is effortless to use, and the cards are visually clear and easy to understand. Even the button’s text, it’s easy to read as well. With the right amount of color, it makes viewing comfortable. Taking its inspiration to “Draw Poker,” all the player ever needs is already on the game screen.

It takes a physical card game and turns it virtually accessible for a lot of people. The player can transfer their playstyle to this one. Here’s a tip, most of the time, always try to hold on to pairs. Because more often than not, that’s already a sure win. It’s not going to be a lot, but at least it’s a sure win.

Review Summary

To wrap it up, Microgaming’s Aces and Faces 4 Play Power does a wonderful job of turning a beloved game into something new with a few twists. Making the game more enjoyable and thrilling for any player. Accompanied by clear and sound visuals, it’s just a dear to play. Just keep in mind your total bet, mostly when you play with multiple hands.

Despite this, this fast-paced game is a generous one. The player will feel like a winner after playing a couple of spins. Playing this does also require skills. The skills to think and make quick decisions, but fortunately, the game does reward skilled players. So, if the player took the time to hone their skills, it’ll definitely be worth it.
