Chinese Roulette Review
When we talk about Roulette, we always think of the traditional French, European or even American versions of the game. But we have a new entrant in this arena – Chinese Roulette! What is it, you ask? Well, read our online review to find out more about this unique and exciting game that has been developed by 1×2 Gaming!
Chinese Roulette Gameplay
1×2 Gaming released Chinese Roulette in 2016, and this game exploded onto the online gaming scene. People who had been looking for something new absolutely fell in love with this new version of Roulette! So, what makes this version of Roulette different from the more traditional ones? Let’s find out. Firstly, the goal of this game remains the same as the traditional one – to correctly guess where the roulette ball will land on the wheel. So, here’s what a traditional Roulette wheel looks like 36 numbers placed in black and red on the wheel, plus either 1 or 2 zeros (depending on whether it’s American, French, or European Roulette).
In Chinese Roulette, you have only 12 symbols, as well as the Infinity symbol (represented by ∞). And there are no numbers; instead, what you have are the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac – a Tiger, a Rat, a Dragon, an Ox, a Snake, a Rabbit, a Horse, a Dog, a Monkey, a Goat, a Rooster, and a Pig.
There is a total of 21 symbols in this game – for the seasons, the elements, and the 12 animals of the zodiac. The seasons and the elements constitute the outside bets and the 12 animals are grouped together based on their relationship to a season and an element. Here is the grouping:
Elements: Water, Fire, Air, and Earth. These are the lowest-value symbols on the table and are placed below the roulette wheel.
Season: Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn. These are the second set of symbols. After these two sets come to the next group of symbols. These have been placed in rows of 3.
- Row 1: Tiger, Dragon, Rabbit
- Row 2: Horse, Snake, Goat
- Row 3: Dog, Monkey, Rooster
- Row 4: Pig, Ox, Rat
The wheel itself has 36 slots, and 3 slots each correspond to one Zodiac animal.
With an RTP of 97.3%, you can look forward to big wins, and since this is also a low volatility game, you also can look forward to frequent small wins. To start playing this game you need to first make your bets.
To the right of the table are the bet amounts in the form of chips (each of which has different values). You also have the Clear Single and Clear All Bets buttons. You can use the plus and minus keys on the game screen to increase or decrease your bets. You may place as many bets as you like on the table. The betting system is similar to what you would find on traditional roulette, so it won’t take you long to get the hang of it.
To set your bet, you click on the chips with the bet denomination you want, and then click the symbols on the bet table. Once you are satisfied with the way you have laid out your bets, you can click on Spin to begin the game. This will activate the ball, and it will be spun on the roulette wheel. The ball will automatically stop after a few seconds, landing on one of the 36 pockets, and you’ll see whether you have won or not.
Chinese Roulette Additional Game Features
1×2’s Chinese Roulette does not have any additional game features – the base game itself is so exciting that you don’t really need added features in this game.
Game Design
The game design is distinctly Chinese thanks to the very theme of the game. You do see the familiar roulette wheel, but instead of the numbers you expect, you get to see the symbols we have already described in the Gameplay segment of our review.
The top half of the game screen shows the roulette wheel, while the bottom half shows the symbols you need to bet on. The lowest-value symbols, the Elements, as well as the Negative and Positive symbols, are placed lowest on the betting table. Above them are the icons for the Seasons. And at the top of that table are the Symbols of the Zodiac. On the extreme left of this table is the Infinity sign. And, as we have stated earlier, the betting options are on the right of the table.
The graphics are created in such a way that this game will take hardly any time to load, and gameplay is seamless. The music is Chinese, and it changes tempo as you play and win.
And since this game is mobile compatible, you can play Chinese Roulette anywhere you want! Of course, there are a few changes made to the game screen in the mobile version. So instead of being able to see the wheel throughout the game, on the mobile version, the roulette wheel will only appear after you have set your bet. The betting function also appears below the symbols table in the mobile version.
Summary
If you are a lover of traditional Roulette, you may be horrified by this new version of the game. But, if you just give it a try, you may be surprised by how interesting it actually is and how much fun you can have with it! And with its high RTP, you definitely won’t mind the big wins you can get from this game!
