Polterheist Slot Review

Probably, the name comes from the famous horror film Poltergeist, but there is no need to be afraid. Polterheist Slot is a spooky video slot created by SG Digital. It’s not as scary as you think. In fact, you’ll play with super cute reel symbols that will help you bring home lots of prizes. Are you ready? You better be!

The Spooky Vibes

For starters, Polterheist Slot consists of five reels that feature animated, floating, alien-like ghosts as reel symbols. It’s difficult to identify what they really are, but they look like sea creatures with exaggerated weird faces. The cartoonists have done an impressive job to come up with something creative. Aside from the glowing ghosts, the reels also include high-valued card symbols. The Wild symbol is the one with the phrase “Wanted Dead”, while the Scatter symbol is a Golden Safe. The backdrop is stunning and gives off the haunted house vibes. However, the background music may be a bit upbeat. It is incorporated with spooky-like sound effects, but it doesn’t sound too scary.

The Polterheist Features

But of course, this scary-themed video slot is not only about its spooky design and graphics. Polterheist Slot has a massive 100-payline with an RTP of 96.19%. That’s 100 paylines, which mean, at least, a hundred chances of getting winning combinations. The betting values aren’t that grand either, as they range from 0.5 to 50. And if you play with a bigger wager, the bigger the rewards you can take home. However, the generous paylines aren’t compensated well by the special features because there are only a few game boosters you can play.

The Spine-Chilling Gameplay

Booooooo!!!!!!! Nah!!! There is no need to be frightened. Polterheist Slot is all about having fun and winning some. But before spinning the reels, you have to set your wager first. To do that, click either one of the betting parameters – Bet Up or Bet Down button – found on the round control panel on the left side of the screen.

Whichever button you click, it will adjust the Total Bet directly. If you’re good with your bet, commence the game by clicking the Play button, which is in the middle of the control panel. No sweat. If you want to check the payout for all the winning combinations, select the three-horizontal-lined button to see the Paytable.

Across the three-horizontal-lined button is the AutoPlay. Click that button if you want to use the AutoPlay function. The choices for the AutoPlay spins are 10, 25, 50, and 100. This option is convenient if you don’t feel like pressing the Play button after every round. But as you use AutoPlay, make sure that your Balance is loaded with enough money. It stops working if the Balance is too low to pay for the rest of the spins. This function also stops if you win any of the special features.

Haunted Special Features

The Polterheist Slots gameplay is straightforward. And we know that it has 100 paylines. But to make the game more exciting, this video slot has a few special features. Find out how to activate them.

Wilds – The Wild symbol is the poster-like icon that shows the faces of the ghosts with the words “Wanted Dead”. It substitutes for all reel symbols to help create a winning combo. But it doesn’t replace the Scatter symbol. In addition to that, the Wild symbol only appears on reels 2, 3, and 4.

Scatters – The Scatter symbol is the Golden Safe, which only appears on reels 1, 3, and 5. Three Scatters on the reels will trigger the Free Games.

Free Games – This is activated when three Scatter symbols appear on the reels, and you get eight free spins. During this special round, each win will be multiplied by 2, 3, or 5 at a random. Additional awards are given if Scatter symbols appear on the reels.

  • 1 Scatter = 1 extra free spin
  • 2 Scatters = 5 extra free spins
  • 3 Scatters = 8 extra free spins

Haunted Wilds and Ghost Break-In features can be activated while you’re playing the Free Games.

Haunted Wilds Feature – This feature adds extra Wilds to reels 2, 3, and 4 at the start of a random spin. It is available on spins that you buy and during Free Games. However, you can’t win the Free Games and the Ghost Break-In Feature when this special feature is activated.

Ghost Break-In Feature – At the start of a random spin, one of the ghost symbols may come out and will fill the reels with stacks of the ghost symbol that has appeared. The other ghost symbols will also transform into the ghost that has appeared. Like the Haunted Wilds Feature, this is also available on spins that you buy and during Free Games. However, you can’t win the Free Games and the Haunted Wilds Feature when this special feature is activated.

Keeping up with the Polterheist Slot!

So, what do you think? Is this an interesting video slot or not? In all fairness, Polterheist Slost has some kind of charm that can captivate the players to play the game. I think it has to do with the spooky theme and overall design. If you take a look at the background, it depicts the feels of a haunted house. It looks creepy enough with bat eyes, cobwebs, the scary pumpkin face. The ghost reel symbols, though they look out of this world, are pretty. They aren’t that scary.  The card symbols have also been modified effectively to stay consistent with the theme. And the sounds are fine. Maybe it’s upbeat because the characters aren’t that frightening.

But when it comes to gameplay, it’s so satisfying to have 100 paylines. It’s like you can win every after a spin. However, the special features may take a while for you to achieve. This video slot doesn’t have many game boosters, so you may need to spend more for every spin if you play this. I tried playing Polterheist Slot, but I couldn’t even win the Haunted Wilds Feature or the Ghost Break-In Feature. That’s the downside of this video slot. But overall, this is worth giving a try. And the good news is that there is a demo version that you can practice at your convenience.
